Ten Things I am Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving week y’all! As I go about my work week and helping my mom prepare for house guests, I’m keeping in mind all the things I am thankful for.

  1. My cats (all 8 of them)
  2. That I grew up on such a wonderful little farm
  3. Beautiful nature trails near my house I can take the dogs to
  4. My boyfriend who turned 26 today!
  5. The soldiers who fought for our freedom
  6. My job
  7. My family (including my boyfriend’s family)
  8. The wonderful ladies in Mary Jane’s Farmgirl Sisterhood that have been so warm and welcoming
  9. My three dogs who are always there to cheer me up after a rough day
  10. The people at my church who I can go to for just about anything

What are you thankful for?

I’m a Farmgirl Sister!

Hello! Guess what I discovered the other day? There is an online group of women called Mary Jane’s Farmgirls that is really cool! You join (it costs $20) and then you can chat with other country women and earn cool merit badges. The ladies have been so nice to me so far and I think earning merit badges is going to be a lot of fun! I will totally update everyone up here about it. If you are a country girl or even dream of having a home in the country, I recommend ¬†you check this group out! It’s great!

Meet Abel!

Since Lily goes back to her owner in a couple of weeks when she returns from military deployment, we though Remmy could use a new friend. S’s cousin’s cat had kittens so we adopted one! His name is Abel and he is five months old. He is very sweet and he and Remmy are already friends. He love to snuggle and watch tv. This will be the last addition to the family for awhile. ūüôā

In Loving Memory…

My heart is broken. We knew it would happen eventually but I guess I always thought in the back of my mind that she would always be there. On Thursday, we had to put down our 38 year old Appendix Quarter Horse mare, Phoebe. It was a hard decision but she wasn’t in any pain her last few minutes. She just couldn’t get back up. My parents saved her from a horrible man that was going to sell her for meat back in 1985. She’s always been there and she had touched so many people. She was always willing to let even the most beginner riders on her back. I’ll miss bringing a curry comb out to the pasture and brushing her while she grazed. I’ll miss her sweet nicker and her nosing my pockets for treats. RIP Phoebe, you will be missed.
